Kicking Off the 118th National Western Stockshow
There’s nothing quite like the sight of 30+ longhorns parading through Downtown Denver. This annual parade is the kickoff for the National Western Stock Show, held in Denver, Colorado.
As a Colorado native, I’m embarrassed to say this was my first time attending this parade. As most photographers herd themselves in front of Denver’s Union Station to get the iconic (and over photographed) shot of the longhorns with the historic building behind them, I patiently waited further along the parade route and captured some great shots showing the stark contrast between the farm animals and the urban streets of downtown Denver.
